Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies are used to remember things between pages, such as the fact that you are signed in. Similar technologies, including local storage, do much the same job. Everything in this policy applies to those too.

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations we may only place cookies on your device without asking you first where they are strictly necessary for the website to work. For anything else, we need your consent, and you are free to say no.

What we do not do

This website does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service. It does not use advertising or marketing cookies. It does not use social media tracking pixels. We do not build a profile of you and we do not track you across other websites.

Cookies this website uses

Strictly necessary

These are needed for the website to function and cannot be switched off through our banner. They do not require your consent.

Third party content, and how to turn it off

The nursery pages include a map provided by Google. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies and identifiers on your device. If you tell us you do not want optional cookies, we do not load the map at all, on any page, until you tell us otherwise.

Service Where it appears What it does
Google Maps The map on each nursery page Loads an interactive map from Google. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies and identifiers on your device, subject to Google’s own privacy policy. If you reject optional cookies, the map is replaced with a placeholder and nothing is sent to Google, with a button so you can still load it yourself if you want to.

Google’s own privacy information is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Fonts and other content loaded from elsewhere

Some of the typefaces used on this website are delivered by Google Fonts. This does not set a cookie, but it does mean your IP address is sent to Google in order to fetch the font file. We are moving these files onto our own server so that this no longer happens.

How to control cookies

When you first visit this site a short notice explains what we use and lets you accept or reject optional cookies. Your choice is remembered for a year, and you can change it at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. If you reject, the Google map is not loaded on any nursery page until you choose otherwise.

You can also control cookies through your browser. Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete those already stored, or warn you before one is set. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this website working properly, particularly for staff who need to sign in.

Guidance for the common browsers is available in their own help pages, and the Information Commissioner’s Office publishes general advice for the public at ico.org.uk/for-the-public.

Keeping this list accurate

We review the cookies on this website whenever we make a significant change to it, and at least once a year, so that this page reflects what is actually set. If you believe something is missing, please email admin@wigwamnurseries.co.uk.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question about our use of cookies, contact David Wiggam, our Data Protection Co-ordinator, at admin@wigwamnurseries.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
